Adoption Homestudy

Today we completed the last of our interviews for our adoption home study.   Lots of questions and a home visit/inspection.    It’s been a long, busy and slightly anxious few weeks getting everything done.  Hopefully everything will be approved by the agency, than submitted to the court so that we can become certified to adopt in Arizona.   It sounds like that could take anywhere from 1-3 months, so it’s kind of hurry up and wait.  Though I think adoption is probably a LOT of hurrying up to wait.   But, while we are waiting for that we will certainly be continuing our search for a birthmother.  We’ve been told by the agency and attorneys that word of mouth is one of the biggest ways to find a birthmother, so we are working on getting the word out.   But at least one part can now be checked off our list!
